Mad Hatter’s Party 2011

It was a great gathering of cartoonists of all sorts and kids, at this years annual Mad Hatter’s party. There were oldies, newbies and everyone in between who came to party on.  The assorted “Mad” hats soon gave way to just talking heads catching up on all the latest news.  After a feast of assorted salads and desserts brought by everyone to eat, along with the picnic staples of hot dogs and hamburgers, everyone settled in for great music and songs by our famed regulars Keith, Jeff and John.

Steve Gallacci even brought Mead to share (it’s a honey wine and an Ancient Drink of Kings and Poets) to go along with the evening’s festivities.  YUM!  Seemed like there was so much to talk about that we gabbed all night in various spots in the yard.  From the outdoor tea room, to the gazebo.

But we were warmed by the fire and the familiar melodies of our musical jam session.  Mike Tackett even gave a special concert on his Bouzouki (a musical instrument with Greek origin in the lute/mandolin family) for Ron Austin (whoÕs working on a film about cartoonists in the northwest).  As the last of the group left, we were happy that we had a wonderful warm evening to enjoy with all the friends of Cartoonists NW.  Great fun, and until next year, keep on a tooning!
