Come to the Cartoonists Northwest meeting on Saturday, August 20 and bring samples of your art, show off your latest project, share tips or techniques, and enjoy each others work.

Everyone will get a few minutes (depending on the attendance) to have the floor and show off or promote their art.  Go ahead – sweep the crowd off their feet!

If you have friends whom you think might enjoy CNW, the Show & Tell
meetings are a great time to introduce them to your fellow cartoonists!  The meeting is free and anything goes!

Who knows what cool stuff will show up!

Steve Gallacci is the Guest Speaker
for our July Cartoonists Northwest meeting!!

Steve Gallaci

Steve is internationally reknowed for creating and publishing Albedo Anthropomorphics, an alternative comic book featuring anthropomorphic characters, it is considered a major factor in the origins of furry fandom.

After serving six years as a graphics specialist in the US Air Force, Steve launched Albedo under his own Thoughts & Images imprint. Albedo was first published in 1983 and lasted through 2005. Steve’s own “Erma Felna: EDF”, a military sci-fi epic featuring elements of political intrigue, was the lead feature.  The infamously rare Albedo #2 v1 featured the first appearance of Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo.  Thoughts & Images also published the first three issues of Donna Barr’s “the Desert Peach” and “Zell, Sworddancer” with art assist by Steve Adams.

Eclipse Comics’ Fusion featured writing and art by Steve along with Lela Dowling, Steve Barnes and Lex Nakashima. His “Birthright” feature appeared in Fantagraphics “Critters”.

Come and meet Steve!  Let’s hear about what he’s up to these days and ask about the Paul Allen connection Maureen keeps mentioning.

See you at Artist & Craftsman!
