Emerald City Con is over and how quickly it came and went! ECCC reported attendance so high, some latecomers were denied tickets to entry for several hours at a time. With crowds like this, make sure you reserve your table for next year well in advance. It would also be smart to get your tickets online in 2013, where they’re offered at an additional discount. Cartoon and movie lovers alike were in for a treat on Monday, February 13th, when aired a profile of cartoonist Mark Monlux!

EM’s Saint Bryan visited Mark in his studio.  Mark’s book “The Comic Critic Presents Seldom Seen Films” was mentioned and Mark says “The orders for the book started ten minutes after airing.“

If you missed this, you can watch it online.

Last month opened our annual Halloween show at the Cafe Racer. Entitled “Bad Omens,” this year’s installment was excellent on all points, with both high-quality artwork all around and good organization by Breanne Bolland. It will be on display until the 30th of November, if you’ve a mind to see.

Coming up in the planning bureau in January is a show at Urbanlight studio in Greenwood, and the debut of the Bureau of Drawers Quarterly, with a cover by Nikki Burch. Bloor, the anthology celebrating everyone’s favorite Uranusian dictator, can be yours through our Etsy store .

The Bureau of Drawers is a loose herd of professional and amateur cartoonists who meet every Wednesday at Cafe Racer (5828 Roosevelt Way NE ¥ 206.523.JAVA) in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle.  Our meetings are open to all and thereÕs only occasionally a set agenda, so itÕs a fine place to hang out and pretend to draw.
